Although I am wearing
black and white,
I am not a woman who wears
black and white!
Believe me:
I am not that woman.
My starkness is an accident,
an anomaly
you mistake
for design.
And that dagger
in the doorway
is not my idea
of cheerful
although I am wearing
black and white.
